Description
 
Under certain vacuum, temperature, pressure and EMF conditions, Ti, Zr, Cr or other metal or alloy is evaporated and ionized depending on cathode arc discharge to react with N2 or other reactant gas and produce compounds such as TiN which deposits on work substrate as being accelerated under bias field so as to provide a high quality ornamental protective film featuring high adhesion, hardness, wear resistance, good lubrication, hot hardness and toughness at the surface of substrate (e.g. stainless steel).
Technical challenge inadequate arc ion plating
Tarnishing: there is large molten drop in plating texture, which results in increased surface roughness, increased diffuse reflection of light and lowered surface brightness of ornament, and leads to surface “tarnishing”.
Cause analysis: once the cathode arc source produces cathode arc, each small arc spot turns into an evaporation source. As the breakdown area is very small and the heating power density is very high, there is no enough time for metal in the molten pool to fully evaporate, resulting in very high internal pressure which causes sudden expansion. Some large metal drops splash and form large particles on stainless steel surface.
Technical Parameters/Requirements
Scope of research:
(1)    Stainless steel vacuum plating color shading control accuracy analysis; (2) developing proportioning technique of N2, Ar and resulting TiN and other compounds in connection with stainless steel vacuum plating; and (3) research on thickness of arc ion plating layer
Technical parameters:
Excellent corrosion resistance, neutral salt mist≥1000h; (2) good toughness, strong film-substrate adhesion, best adhesion rate verified by adhesion test, suitable for cutting, bending and other processing procedures; (3) resistance to thermal oxidation at up to 1000; and (4) applying for 3 invention patents.

Haimen Senda Decoration Material Co., Ltd., founded in March 1999, is a private-owned hi-tech enterprise specializing in the manufacturing of high quality stainless steel decorative sheet. Its business activities include metal building material, door panel, ladder, sheet, sheet and fit-out material. Products of the company include SUS304/NO.4 oily short wire drawing sheet, SUS304/HL oily long wire drawing sheet, SUS304/Vibration oily corrugated sheet, SUS304/SB sheet, SUS304/#400 hairline polished decorative sheet, SUS304/Anti-finger print sheet, SUS304/NO.8 smooth sheet, and other stainless steel decorative sheets. We have been committed to develop new products, expand market presence with such new products and increase its size and capability by strengthening technical transformation. We now own 19 invention patents and have completed transformation of 10 science and technology results. We will work toward a new objective in the market with increasingly fierce competition by focusing on innovation.
