Project Name
Metal Hydrazide Gel for High-Capacity Hydrogen Storage
Project Information
1.* Technology Field
Transportation Science and Technology Innovation
Major New Materials Engineering
Energy and Environmental Protection
2.* Technology brief
Metal Hydrazide gel that can store 77 kg of H2 per meter cubed at room temperature; at pressures <350 bar. M
Material stores H2 as a solid by way of Kubas interaction. To store pressure H2 in and to release open valve and H2 will start to flow
3.* Description of the technical advantages
Requires no special pressure vessel and the store and release may be cycled any number of times with no lose in capacity
4.* The sustainability of the technical advantages
Currently there is no other system that can store this capacity of hydrogen does efficiently and effectively. This system is based on a new material that has been patented internationally.
5.* Risk of the technology
Material can be contaminated with Oxygen whereby it looses the bonding sites occupied by O as ongoing storage capacity. We have however developed a system to take up the oxygen back out of you metal hydrazide and revitalize the storage capacity back to full capability.
6.* The current development situation and progress of the project
We have full proof of concept of this technology and are ready to proceed with prototype vessels for testing and validation then move directly to pilot production.
7.* Prospective market value/business value
The market value of this technology is in the multibillion-dollar range since this is the critical element required to make hydrogen of viable energy source for both stationary and mobile applications. This technology could make green renewable energy a reality and the mainstay of society on earth.
8.* Intellectual Property
Patent
9. Description of the technical requirements
The ideal partner would be a chemical facility with strong chemical engineering capability that could help develop and design continuous production facilities for this material and technology. This technology uses commercially available continuous flow and batch technologies for its manufacture.
10. Ideal way of cooperation
Technical Transformation       Technology License
Others
this would be a joint development of the prototype and scaling with a license back to a specific region and a joint venture in design and build of production facilities internationally.
11.* Planned Investment Amount
to 15 million
