New silver plating process for molybdenum foil of spacecraft interconnection

Description
|
Interconnection for space purpose is made from Mo foil. As spacecraft is exposed to high altitude radiation, meteorite, super high temperature, super low temperature and other complex environment factors when traveling around orbit, it is necessary to make surface treatment for existing Mo foil, i.e. plating a layer of protective silver for increasing the conductivity of Mo foil and enhancing its resistance to damages. Furthermore, the welding performance of Mo deteriorates under high temperature condition due to strong oxidization, but can be greatly improved by surface silver plating. Nevertheless, it’s very hard to silver plate Mo sheet. Mo sheet is very thin (13-15μm), direct silver plating can have poor adhesion, and traditional process is very complex. Therefore, we need a new silver plating process for Mo foil of spacecraft interconnection.

Technical Parameters/Requirements
|
1. Appearance: Mo foil plating shall have silvery white flat and smooth surface free from burr;
2. Thickness: 5μm-6μm plating;
3. Fastness: plating shall not fall off after the plated work is bent to and fro for 0-180° for 10 times;
4. Bending resistance: the plated work shall have no crack or rupture after being bent to and fro for 0-180° for 10 times;
5. Compactness: subject to photo of standard work showing plating compactness furnished by the purchaser;
6. Purity: silver plating ≥99.9%.
